Tryout Day Information

  2. Submit the Electronic Release Form
  3. Attend a tryout day that is convenient for you.

Our coaching staff will evaluate each athlete based on the following criteria to best place athletes on teams:

  • Jumps – Jump combination, Jumps to a standing tumbling pass.
  • Tumbling (if any) – Standing tumbling, Running tumbling pass, a second running pass if desired.
  • Dance – Dance choreography that was taught.
  • Presentation
  • Showmanship
  • Willingness to Accept and Apply Instruction
  • Overall attitude and attendance from the past season, if applicable

Each group will have the opportunity to briefly warm up tumbling, jumps, and the dance they learned when they first arrive. Tryouts will occur in groups of 4 athletes, grouped together. and will finish by showcasing body positions for potential flying positions. Bases and back spots will be asked what positions they prefer.

DRESS ATTIRE – At Triple Threat, we take great pride in our appearance because we believe that presentation is everything. We ask that you begin your season with the THREAT NATION by wearing the following items to Tryouts;

Males – t-shirt, shorts, socks & sneakers, absolutely no jewelry

Females – sports bra and/or t-shirt, shorts or leggings, socks & sneakers, hair in a high ponytail with a matching bow, absolutely no jewelry

Any Triple Threat clothing you already own is also acceptable. New members are welcome to purchase any gear from the THREAT SHOP or wear any orange, white and blue color combinations.

** Team placements on initial team rosters are not finalized until August. Athletes who do not keep skills performed at tryouts may be moved to a different team. Those athletes who showed marked improvement throughout the summer qualify to be moved up a level as well. The same rules apply throughout the official competitive season and also for post-season. Rosters are open to change throughout the season as athletes grow out of or into stunt positions.

It is the coaches’ job to put the best athletes out on the mat. Athletes must also show consistent attendance and a good attitude throughout the summer in order to keep their spot. Athletes must be hitting full out routines 2 weeks prior to a competition in order to solidify their spot on the competition floor.

Tryout Information Continued…

**Everyone who attends tryouts at Triple Threat makes a team. However, even though you may have selected a particular program it may be suggested that our ALL STAR LIMITED, ALL STAR NOVICE or MID YEAR programs are a better fit for some athletes who have no prior cheerleading experience and need another year of intensive learning.

Tryout results are streamed LIVE! – The X-Generation Reveal – on our Facebook and Instagram on Sunday, June 23rd, 2019 at 3:30pm EST.

A mandatory parent/athlete meeting “THREAT NIGHT” will be conducted on Sunday, June 30th, 2019 at 4:30pm. On this night more detailed information will be outlined about the season and deposits for the season are due on this night.
